2007 Hague Convention on the
International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance (“2007
Convention”, “the Convention”) is ratified by the Republic of Turkey.[1]
The Convention will enter into force on
1 September 2017. This constitutes an important development in the
international family law area.
The Convention was found to be
eligible for approval by General Assembly of Turkey with law No: 6708 published
in the Official Gazette on 5 May 2016.
Turkey has made a reservation on the
Convention. Accordingly, pursuant to Article 30, it reserves the right not to
recognize and enforce maintenance arrangements.
